Michael Gillespie has been awarded the Shirl Smithson Memorial scholarship from the Oil Painters of America organization. The merit-based scholarship is $500 tuition for a workshop with a nationally recognized artist.
Michael Gillespie was named Artist of the Month by the Ellis County Art Association and his painting, "Delane II," will be displayed at the door of their Gallery in the Square in Waxahachie, Texas, during the month of November.

Lynda's painting "Days Finale" won Best of Show in Texas & Neighbors 2017 Exhibit.
"Days Finale" also received the "Pastel Society of New England" award at the annual PSA exhibition ENDURING BRILLIANCE. The show will be on display during the month of September in NYC.
Janice won Merchants Award at the RCAS Regional and Honorable Mention at the IAC Annual Show.
Marie's painting "Portrait of an Artist" won an honorable mention in the Texas and Neighbors 2017 Exhibit.
Patsy's painting "Eye've Got an Eye on you" won an Honorable Mention in the Texas and Neighbors 2017 Exhibit.
Selected into the Internation Association of Pastel Societies' 2017 Exhibit are members: Marie Maines, Lynda Conley, Mary Jean Davis, and Janis Krendik. Congratulations.

Janice Hamilton has won 1st place in drawing/pastels in the Irving Art Association Membership Show, 2nd place in the ACA show, 2nd in the Irving Art Center - Professional Division, 3rd in oils in the C. C. Young Show and had a painting accepted into the RCAS Regional.
She will be presenting the program and giving a workshop for the Carrolton/Farmers Branch Art Organization in September 2016 and presenting the program for the Richardson Civic Art Society in May 2017.
This fall she will be teaching classes in pastels, oils, and perspective at the Artists Showplace Gallery in Dallas.

Toni was awarded the Women in the Arts award from the Daughters of the American Revolution. This honor is designed to recognize and honor a woman who has made significant achievements at the community level in her artistic field. The recipient is expected to have contributed to her artistic field in an outstanding manner beyond mastery of technique, which may include innovative design work, featured exhibitions, publication, research, and technique development.
Janis was juried into the increasingly prestigious Texas & Neighbors Art Show at the IIrving Arts Center. Her piece is "Remembering Taos".
Linda won an Honorable Mention in the Animal/Wildlife category of the 17th Annual Pastel 100 competition. Her work "Paints at Dusk" will be published in the April 2016 issue of the Pastel Journal magazine and in Southwest Art magazine along with all winner's work.
Lynda won first place in the Pastel division of the 30th annual Bosque Art Classic in Clifton, Texas with her piece titled "The Morning Pair".
Enid's piece "Midwinter" took first place in the Austin Pastel Austin Society Juried Exhibition.
Robbie George won 2nd place in the Landscape category in the Autin Pastel Society Juried show.
Billie Cochrum won a merit award in the Austin Pastel Society Juried Show
Marie Maines won 2nd place in the drawing category for her pastel artwork at the Texas and Neigbors 30th Juried Exhibition.
Toni was informed that her painting "We are not Alone" (the cowboy) won First Place in a National Art Show. The painting will hang in the DAR Museum in Washington, D.C. during Continental Congress! It is currently on view at the Lancaster Theater in Grapevine through March.

Patsy received the Ridgewood Art Institute Award for One Tuna, One California in the PSA 42nd annual exhibition, Enduring Brilliance. The exhibit will hang until Sept 17, 2014.
Michael Gillespie spent the month of August, 2014 as Artist in Residence at a 5- star hotel in Tuscany, in Italy. He spent most of the time doing plein air paintings in oil and pastel, but also taught some painting lessons and sold a few paintings. While in Florence, he met and visited with painter and teacher Matthew James Collins of the Charles H. Cecil Studio.
Toni Wengler was recently notified that her artwork “The Long Wait” was awarded National first place in NSDAR’s American Heritage Art and Sculpture Contest. The work will be displayed in the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) library during Continental Congress this year . Toni is adept in various media and this work was done in colored pencil. Congratulations!
The 2013 Pastel Society of America's annual show, currently hanging at the National Arts Club in New York during the month of September, includes a prize-winning drawing by Marie Maines, a member of Pastel Society of the Southwest. The title of the painting is Red Barn/Shadow (23x23). Her award is Painters in Pastel Award given by Carrie Raeburn, PSA, and John Raeburn and is a monetary award of $500.00. She is also very excited to have been awarded signature status in Pastel Society of America, in May, 2013
